A useful test, one step at a time

Keep the exact version. Save the chart or pattern you followed. Record its version, your chosen size and any changes.
Make a small sample. Use the intended yarn and hook. Count stitches and measure as you go. Record the first point where the result differs.
Compare observations. Note the shape before and after blocking. If someone else tests it, keep their result separate so different yarns and tension are visible.

A stitch-count check can find arithmetic problems. It cannot establish how a fabric will drape, fit or behave. These notes describe your sample; they are not a Crochive approval or a guarantee for every maker.
